This quilt went together rather quickly. I also found another batik that coordinates well with the two main colors.I used it as an inner border creating a buffer between the blocks and the outer border. This quilt is listed for sale on ebay.

This quilt is being made using the “Hunter Star” block.I used templates to cut out the different odd shaped patches.I decided this time to step away from a scrappy look and only go with two fabrics in the blocks.I’ve chosen medium and dark blue batiks.
A few blocks up on the design board and the pattern is beginning to emerge.

Quilting is done, binding is on and the finished quilt has been posted for sale on http://www.Ebay.com. Please search for “scrappy batik quilt”.
Sewing blocks together. This little Featherweight sewing machine is my go to work horse. It moves along pretty quickly for an old timer and is a joy to work with.I do most of my piecing on this machine.
I’ve made a bunch of blocks and put them up on my design board.Look close and you will see there are actually two different blocks, one mostly light the other mostly dark. You can now see the pattern created and the importance of value placement.
