Beverly Quilter

This quilt was commissioned by a repeat customer. They enjoyed the first quilt they had purchased and asked if I could make another in a different color. I was more than happy to create another quilt for them and in the colors they requested. It’s always nice to know how well received my quilts are,most of the time I never know. The colors in this quilt are based on the quilt pictured in the banner of this blog. We conversed via email about all the particulars including the machine quilting which ended up being a pattern with hearts and paw prints,so cute!

I enjoy making these colorful Bear Paw quilts and hope to make more in the future,but for now,this will be the last one featuring the paisley print used in the paw pad. There are a few of my quilts like this one out in the world that use this fabric but I only had just enough left to make this quilt.Now with only 1/3 of a yard left I’ll have to wait til something new and just as colorful comes along.

Working with all these colors makes the process fun and that wonderful paisley print tied them all together.

I quilted this one in an all over abstract design with an off white thread.The backing is an off white with an ornate brown design.

This queen sized quilt began with a group of coordinating fabrics from Henry Glass Fabrics called “Garnets & Gingham”. I went with a solid off white fabric for the background to set off the beautiful red prints. This quilt measuring 87”x106” is up for sale on eBay and may be found by searching for “red and white quilt”.

Merging two different classic blocks created a pleasing design for this quilt. To keep it simple and not detract from the center of the quilt I went with little red squares alternating with white in the border.

The backing fabric is an off white with tiny red dots design print. I used an off white thread and machine quilted this in an all over abstract design.

This post will feature batik lap quilts that I have made and are available for sale on eBay. Each quilt is made with beautiful batik fabrics and measure a nice large lap size approximately 48” x 63”.

I worked on three puzzle quilts simultaneously over the summer knowing I was going to be donating one of them. After learning about a small fire that damaged a portion of one of the buildings belonging to my local historical society,I wanted to do something to support the effort to repair that damage.

I won’t go into construction details here.Previous posts on this blog of my puzzle quilts can be found and will give you more info.

While it took a little longer than I expected to complete the three quilts,it was a lot of fun. I made a bunch of blocks and moved them around until I had three different “tops” that I liked. The quilt with the green floral border (# 9) was chosen by Historic Beverly for their fund raiser and the other two are up for sale on eBay. Please search for “Puzzle Quilt”.
