Sewing blocks together. This little Featherweight sewing machine is my go to work horse. It moves along pretty quickly for an old timer and is a joy to work with.I do most of my piecing on this machine.
Scrappy Criss Cross Batik
I’ve made a bunch of blocks and put them up on my design board.Look close and you will see there are actually two different blocks, one mostly light the other mostly dark. You can now see the pattern created and the importance of value placement.

Welcome to Beverly Quilter!
Welcome to the first post of Beverly Quilter. I am a work at home quilter/quiltmaker and have lived in Beverly,MA my whole life.I’ve always loved colorful fabrics and was taught to sew around age 9 by my Nana on her treadle machine, which I still have. She taught me mostly clothing and some homemaking arts but not quilt making.I took an interest in quilt making many years later when I found I could combine my love of colorful fabrics and skill at sewing into an expressive past time. Many of my one of a kind quilts seen on this blog are put up for sale on eBay and will more than likely not be repeated, once sold.I hope you enjoy this blog!
