Sampler Puzzle #4

I enjoy making these sampler puzzle quilts especially while using those beautiful civil war reproduction style fabrics. No two will ever be exactly alike.Sometimes I choose colors that I like together then pick a block I think will look good made up in those colors and other times the block style comes first then I pick the colors. This lap size quilt measuring 46”x55” has already been sold on eBay. I’ll probably be making more because they’re so much fun for me to make. I get to stretch my imagination just a little bit with them.

This quilt has a fun shirting style print fabric of an off white with navy and red dots and circles for the backing. I machine quilted this in an abstract all over edge to edge design with dark blue thread.

I’m a work from home long arm quilter/quiltmaker.I learned to sew on my Nana’s treadle machine when I was around 8 yrs old but didn’t start making quilts til much later in life.I’m mostly self taught and have been making quilts for 30+ years.I enjoy making scrappy quilts and love working with batiks,but I have a fondness for antique reproduction fabrics as well.I tend to work with more traditional style block patterns but I put my own spin on them with use of fabric choices.I also do some pantograph quilting for people who want their tops finished into quilts.
