Scrappy Pineapple #3

This 49”x64” lap sized pineapple quilt is made similar to the first two with the difference being in the border that frames all the pineapple blocks. This time I chose to surround the outer edge with diamonds. Once again I used a colorful assortment of Civil War Reproduction style cotton print fabrics. The previous two quilts can be seen on this blog with the first one showing details in the block construction. This quilt sold on http://www.eBay.com.

I chose to back this quilt with a fun red and white leaf design print fabric typical of the era. The machine quilting is an all over edge to edge abstract design done in a taupe color thread.

I’m a work from home long arm quilter/quiltmaker.I learned to sew on my Nana’s treadle machine when I was around 8 yrs old but didn’t start making quilts til much later in life.I’m mostly self taught and have been making quilts for 30+ years.I enjoy making scrappy quilts and love working with batiks,but I have a fondness for antique reproduction fabrics as well.I tend to work with more traditional style block patterns but I put my own spin on them with use of fabric choices.I also do some pantograph quilting for people who want their tops finished into quilts.
