This traditional design called “Log Cabin” was one of the first styles of quilt that I learned to make. For this one I chose to place the blocks in the “Barn Raising” setting. I put a twist on the classic colors of blue and white by using periwinkle and royal blues,a white fabric printed with a royal blue floral design and buttery yellow fabrics for added accent. I liked the way this one turned out. This 84”x100” queen sized quilt is available for sale on http://www.eBay.come. Please search for “Blue & White Log Cabin Quilts”.
I made a few different blocks then set them into appropriate places to get the look I wanted.

I quilted this one in an all over edge to edge abstract vine design with royal blue thread. The blue and white floral backing compliments the front of the quilt where I did use some of it in the blocks.
