Going for a more “antique” look for this quilt, I chose red, white and blue reproduction fabrics from my stash. I had enough different fabrics that I was able to make a great assortment of blocks. I then decided to place the sawtooth star blocks side by side. This large lap quilt is generously sized at 53”x72”. This quilt has sold on eBay.
I enjoyed making this quilt. Reproduction fabrics are among my favorites, whether they are civil war style or depression era. I did however end up quilting this in an all over edge to edge abstract design, but I think it only adds to it’s charm.

I’m a work from home long arm quilter/quiltmaker.I learned to sew on my Nana’s treadle machine when I was around 8 yrs old but didn’t start making quilts til much later in life.I’m mostly self taught and have been making quilts for 30+ years.I enjoy making scrappy quilts and love working with batiks, but I have a fondness for antique reproduction fabrics as well.I tend to work with more traditional style block patterns but I put my own spin on them with use of fabric choices.I also do some pantograph quilting for people who want their tops finished into quilts.
