This quilt was made by using sets of pre-cuts called “Enchanted Forest” by Island Batiks. I utilized both the 2 1/2” strips and the 10” stacks to create the look I was going after. The pre-cuts speed piecing along and also provide a beautiful mix of colors. These colors remind me of the Iris’s that will soon be flowering.
After piecing the quilt top I backed it with a pale lavender batik and quilted it in an all over, edge to edge abstract design using a dark purple thread. This large quilt measuring 88”x103” sold on http://www.ebay.com . Please contact me if you would like me to make one similar to it.

I’m a work from home long arm quilter/quiltmaker.I learned to sew on my Nana’s treadle machine when I was around 8 yrs old but didn’t start making quilts til much later in life.I’m mostly self taught and have been making quilts for 30+ years.I enjoy making scrappy quilts and love working with batiks, but I have a fondness for antique reproduction fabrics as well.I tend to work with more traditional style block patterns but I put my own spin on them with use of fabric choices.I also do some pantograph quilting for people who want their tops finished into quilts.
