Indigo Crossing

I used another set of 10” pre-cut squares from Island Batiks called “Indigo Morris” to make this 85” x 101” queen sized quilt. I cut the 10” squares into patches 4 1/2” and 2 1/2” square. I then did a bit of shuffling to achieve the dark/light contrast in each block. Chain piecing got these blocks made in no time! I did some more shuffling to get the criss cross look I wanted. Blue happens to be one of my favorite colors and this was a real treat to work on.  This quilt is available for sale at http://www.eBay.com please search for “Scrappy Blue Quilts”.

I used a fabric from the same line to back this quilt. This is the first time I used this abstract quilting design and I think it goes well on this quilt.

I’m a work from home long arm quilter/quiltmaker.I learned to sew on my Nana’s treadle machine when I was around 8 yrs old but didn’t start making quilts til much later in life.I’m mostly self taught and have been making quilts for 30+ years.I enjoy making scrappy quilts and love working with batiks,but I have a fondness for antique reproduction fabrics as well.I tend to work with more traditional style block patterns but I put my own spin on them with use of fabric choices.I also do some pantograph quilting for people who want their tops finished into quilts.
